System Scaffold

All personnel who work on, erect, alter and/or dismantle System Scaffolds.

The aim of the course is -

This course is designed to provide candidates with an understanding of System Scaffold design and components and to provide the knowledge and practical skills to ensure safe working practices are adopted when working with System Scaffolds in accordance with current health & safety legislation and manufacturers guidelines.

Course Content

  • The Law – Regulations & Legislation (including: Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 & The Work at Height Regulations 2005)
  • Kwikstage and Cuplok systems
  • System Scaffold components – what goes where?
  • Scaffold tools and equipment
  • Manual Handling in scaffolding
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Practical exercises: Erecting, altering and dismantling procedures
  • Stage bracket movements
  • Plan and erect loading bay, stair tower/ladder access
  • Safety Harnesses
  • Inspecting pre-erected scaffolds

The course is a mixture of theory and practical training / exercises.

This course will only cover up to 4 metres in height; qualified scaffolders should be used if scaffold is to be above 5 metres in height. Attending this course will NOT qualify candidates as scaffolders.

Course Objectives -

On successful completion of this course, candidates will have an understanding of safety as it applies to System Scaffolds and will have the knowledge and practical skills to ensure safe working practices are adopted when working with system scaffolds, including erecting, altering or dismantling procedures.
