Personnel who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities.
This course is designed to provide candidates with a knowledge and understanding of health, safety and welfare issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will highlight the requirement to promote health and safety, to supervise effectively and the need for risk assessment in the workplace.
The course is a mix of tutor led lecture and discussion sessions, PowerPoint presentations, safety videos, group work, case studies and practical exercises.
On successful completion of this course, candidates will be able to oversee and contribute to health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions, carry out risk assessments and understand the need for method statements, deliver effective toolbox talks and method statement briefings and will understand the importance of timely intervention when bad practice is identified.
