All personnel who carry out work activities close to underground services, including excavation operators, utilities personnel and also managers and supervisors.
This course is designed to give candidates an awareness and understanding of the possible dangers when dealing with underground apparatus, such as buried services and utilities and to provide instruction in the safe use of cable avoidance tools and equipment.
The course is a mixture of theory and practical training / exercises.
On successful completion of this course, candidates will have sufficient knowledge and practical skills to enable them to safely use cable avoidance tools and equipment. Candidates will also have an understanding of the hazards associated with underground services.
